Free Chinese Food and a $10 bonus

Ok, so my brother wanted to come over tonight because he wanted to download a few Grateful Dead shows from the Internet Archive.  I was thinking of ordering some Chinese food.  I mentioned this to him, and surprisingly he asked me to order something for him.  This is surprising because he's really picky, and doesn't usually try anything that's out of the norm for him (at first he was saying he wanted something that was just Chicken with some kind of vegetables, but he settled on..).

He wanted Kung Pao Chicken he said, and he actually really liked it, which surprised me further. lol  Anyway, good for him.  The first bonus is that he said he'd pay for it.  I told him he didn't have to pay for everything, but he wanted to, so I wasn't gonna argue.

What I got for myself was merely ok...probably won't order it again.  I got Hunan Beef, but it was the "Monk's Special".  The 'beef' was made from tofu (pretty sure it was the part referred to as the Tofu Skin, check Wikipedia for details).  I was super curious as to how it would taste.  At first I didn't like it much, then I did...then I didn't again.  I guess I'm very mixed on if I like it or not.  My stomach started to turn a bit though....I guess it didn't really agree with me, so yeah...probably won't get that again. :P  The texture was surprisingly spot on though.

My brother also gave the delivery fella a $5 tip, and the man was grateful. :)  This'll sound like a Chinese stereotype, but he was bowing like crazy and was really happy to have it.  It was kind of awesome to see somebody get so happy (I wish everyone would appreciate things like that so much).  My brother also gave me ten dollars (!) to burn the shows to CD.  I told him he really didn't have to, but he insisted.

He annoys the hell out of me sometimes, but I guess he IS pretty generous really.  Probably helps that he has such a large bank account (he's good at saving money and actually built up quite a bit while living with my parents).  I do love my brother, even though I might not say that to him.  We get along pretty well usually too.  It was cool tonight having dinner with him and watching stuff like Family Guy on Fox.

Anyway, I need to work off this food.  @_@

Case Designate: Cloverfield

I decided to rewatch Cloverfield again tonight.  I love this movie so much.  Best monster movie EVER man.  Anyway, I felt like bitching about people and Cloverfield.  Something I've heard time and again is how it alluded to 9/11 in a cheap way, or something to that effect.  I can't say that this EVER enters my mind when I'm watching this movie.  I think that just maybe people are too sensitive at this point.

Honestly, yes, it was a terrible event that shocked the hell out of me and disturbed me, and it should be remembered.  But when do we move on with our lives?  Evidently we can't have a movie where explosions and crap happen that's set in New York ever again (I say this, living in the state at least).

It's a good thing movies like Zombieland (which is awesome, by the way...go see it) don't have a part set in New York City, then we'd be seeing people saying "THESE ZOMBIES ARE LIKE 9/11!"

Just...as terrible as it was, get a grip people.

Haven't written in a while...I guess life has been decent mostly.  Can't wait for a day off though...both my days off are at the end of the week this week, so it's turning into kind of a long week.  I guess I don't have much to write about after all...I'll try some more later.

*wah wah waaaaah*

My morning has sucked hard.  I got up, got some cereal, then Liz called asking me about a computer problem.  Two hours later (due to Vista being an ass and making it extra difficult) problem solved.  I'm telling her next time I talk to her to not call me so early for something like that.  I literally (until a bit ago) had only like five or ten minutes to myself.

I'm not doing this again.  This morning has been terrible.  I haven't had time to exercise either, and at this point I really just don't even feel like it.  I want at least some time to myself before I go to work.  Urgh...need to go relax, I'm all stressed out now (yay for stress first thing in the morning).  The problem was very frustrating to fix.

Wow, been rockin' the Wii Fit Plus.  I decided the day I got it to double my work out time.  Wii Fit Plus is even better since it makes it easier for me to not cheat on my workout when I can string together a bunch of exercises and do them back to back with no stopping. ;)

So, it's an hour (at least) a day then (though I could skip a day or two each week...I think I'll allow myself at least one day for a break if I feel I need it or if I'm too busy).  I suppose that's not much...or is it?  I dunno.  Yesterday I felt pretty wiped, felt great today though.  I think this is probably a good thing.  Still need to write a review...I need to get to sleep early tonight though, so it's a no go tonight.  Tomorrow maybe.
